Galoshans Festival 2020 invites residents to get creative and spread Hallowe’eny joy to neighbours throughout Inverclyde by dressing up your windows in the run up to Hallowe’een for the “Oot the Windae” Galoshans Window Art Trail.
Snap your home made Galoshans themed window art, tagging @GaloshansFest & #GaloshansFestival across social media to share and spread the Galoshans spirit.
WINDOW ART WORKSHOPS

Creative online workshops run with RIG Arts every Sunday throughout October to provide inspiration and creative ideas to try for all ages. Join RIG tutors via zoom to create props and decorations for your windows for the Galoshans “Oot the Windae” art trail.
All materials provided, please contact with your address to book a space and receive your art pack.
If you can’t make a workshop, watch out online for online resources and how-to’s for Hallowe’en crafts in your own time!

Galoshans Festival brings interactive water art to the streets of Greenock! Join the artist led community Webex workshops to help create vibrant murals, to adorn the town’s pavements and coastal paths.
Socially distant outdoor workshops will be held on Friday 30th to apply the stencil murals, using water to reveal the finished artwork in an innovative way.

FIXING FASHION WORKSHOPS AND ART INSTALLATION

Pop up art installation: appearing in Greenock Town Centre | 26th – 31st October
Join RIG Arts Fixing Fashion project this October as they use creativity and community activism to promote greener living. Over a series of 6 online zoom workshops the group will plan and create a public art installation exploring themes of water, the horrors of consumption and ghoulish consequences of fast fashion production using waste materials.
AIEEE! SCARY COMICS SESSION
with Magic Torch Comics
Zoom workshop: Saturday 24th October |

Magic Torch Comics will explore some scary stories and local legends with young people across Inverclyde through their comic creation project Outside the Box.
Create creepy characters going on ghoulish Galoshans in your own Spooky Comic and then help create some terrifying ideas for a scary story the group will all write together.

ZOMBIE PIRATES MINI SHIPBUILDING CHALLENGE
with Inverclyde Libraries
Inverclyde is under attack!! Ship builders urgently needed! Zombie pirates are stranded ashore in Inverclyde – their ship wrecked just off Greenock and without a way of returning to sea they are running wild across Inverclyde!
Save the citizens of Inverclyde by building a new ship to send the zombie pirates back to sea! Build your boat from any shipbuilding materials at home (lego, play doh, card, paper, junk).
Prizes available for the most creative and innovative boat that floats well enough to send those zombie pirates off on their merry way!
